Sub: Meeting on Cost of Compliance to EU’s REACH Regulation – Reg.  

Our council has received a communication from O/o Jt. Director General Foreign Trade, Hyderabad, informing that an interactive meeting is being arranged with Consultant, Centre for WTO studies, IIFT, New Delhi on 9th Feb. 2010 at 3p.m. in the chamber of JDGFT, Hyderabad on Cost of Compliance with REACH regulation of European Union.

As you are aware, companies exporting chemicals and intermediates (excluding bulk drugs) to European Union have to undergo registration under the recent REACH Regulation.  A brief note on Cost of Compliance for the purpose is enclosed for your ready reference.  We are also enclosing a questionnaire forwarded to us by the consultant which may be forwarded to them directly after due completion.  The consultant would be interacting with the representatives of the industry to clarify any doubts as also understand various issues being faced by them.

Members are therefore requested to take advantage of the meeting by participating themselves or by nominating their executives appropriately by informing this office or Office of JDGFT, latest by 8th Feb. 2010.
