Dear Member,
As you are aware, as part of various initiatives taken by Department of Commerce, Government of India, for promotion of exports of pharmaceuticals, the Government has finalized “Brand India Pharma” Project with the main objective of creating confidence among overseas stake holders that Indian pharmaceuticals/generics are Affordable, Equitable and Reliable. Keeping in view the Liberalization policy of Government of Japan for increasing share of generic medicines for domestic consumption and scope for increasing the market for Indian pharmaceuticals in Japan, Government of India has felt it appropriate to launch the project from Japan. Accordingly, the “Brand India Campaign” is being launched on 21st March in the sidelines of CPhI Japan, Tokyo.
The launch event is a one day programme on 21st March, 2012 and is Headed by Top Dignitary from Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Among other activities the programme includes, a business seminar on “Indian-Japanese Emerging Cooperation in Pharma and Health Care Sector” and interactive luncheon / dinner meetings by Senior Government officials with Japanese/Indian CEOs etc. Programme details are given below.

In view of the above, we invite all our members (CEOs/Executives) to participate in the above event. We particularly invite those CEOs/Pharma Executives from our member companies who are participating in CPhI Japan, to please make note of this unique initiative taken by Government of India in support of Indian pharma industry, actively participate and make it a Grand Success. This would be an expression of sincere thanks to the Indian Government for their initiative to strengthen Indian pharma in international markets.
